Suzi brings us a new series of images from the Endangered Primate Rescue Center in Cuc Phuong National Park in Vietnam featuring Lorises and Langurs with their keepers. Established 25 years ago, this conservation group rescues and rehabilitates highly endangered primate species from the illegal wildlife trade. Their final aim is to reintroduce and release these animals as stable family groups into well-protected natural areas. Since the conservation program's inception they have rescued over 300 rare primates from the illegal wildlife trade in Vietnam! One of the things that struck Suzi is that Vietnam is full of wildlife that really is largely unknown or ignored by the Western world. A huge number of these species are on the brink of extinction due to their use in Chinese medicine, illegal wildlife trade and habitat loss. These animals need the Western world's attention and advocacy in order to survive. Click on any image to see the full gallery including an image showing the massive amounts of leaves the workers much process each day to feed the primates!
